Republicans and Women

Why does the Republican Party seem to hate women so much? I don’t know the answer to that question but I wish someone would answer it for me. There will always be those that will support the party even when they seem to be going crazy. I think the problem is that they have to oppose President O’bama on everything he does.

The latest thing is birth control for women. Why does the Republican Party oppose this? Because President O’bama is for it. That is the only reason. I understand why the Catholic Church is against it. They are only for little boys and what they can do to them. That is the extent of their concern. I will admit that I have absolutely no respect for the Catholic Church. Any organization that routinely protects pedophiles while amassing enormous wealth is closer to Satan than Jesus. That’s just my opinion. So when the Catholic Church says they don’t want to pay for birth control for women the response to them should have been so what. I bet they provide vasectomy coverage for men. If they don’t want to provide fair and equal coverage for everyone then they should get out of that business.

The Republicans are following those that call themselves The Religious Right. This group has lots of influence in the party. The problem is they are following them down a hole only because they wear the robe. They are not paying attention to the actions of those they follow.

They say women should not have abortions because the child being aborted has a right to live. I get that position. Then a woman says she wants to take a pill to prevent pregnancy and they are against that too. They also say that if you can’t afford to raise children then you should not be having them. I guess they are going to decide who can have sex and who cannot. What kind of country would that be?

Republicans also vote against equal pay for women. Why should a woman be paid less just because she is not hanging. I don’t understand how they can even defend their position but they stick to it.

I know the Republican Party stands for more than the issues that I’m talking about but if they continue to discriminate against women they may lose part of their voting block. What is the Republican Party’s problem with women?

Newt Gingrich

I watched the Republican Debate last night and I must say that I enjoyed it very much. I’m also sad that Rick Perry had decided to drop out of the race. I’m going to miss him.

So anyway let’s get started. Mr. Gingrich was upset that John King asked him about the interview that his 2nd wife had given. In which she says that he said to her that he wanted to be in an open marriage.  He said that it should not have been the first question. I would like to know at what point during the debate should that question be asked. I wish he had asked Mr. Gingrich that question. I know the answer is NEVER. He does not want to talk about it. I don’t blame him and I would not want to do it either.

Newt said being asked that question was the worst thing he could imagine. I don’t believe that at all. I know he has a better imagination than that. Like, thinking that I may be dying and my wife asking me for a divorce, would be worse. He said that “it is questions like that are what keeps good people from running for public office”. Surely he doesn’t think he is a good person. If he is a good person he hides it well. Unless he is saying he is a good person except for all the bad things that he has done. If that is what he is saying then he is a great person and should be the next President.

This has to be the best election primary ever. I am really pulling for Newt. I wanted Rick Perry to win but now that he is out Newt is my guy. I don’t think I have ever seen anyone like him. I would like to list some of the crazy stuff that he has done, and it is a good list, but I’m going to wait for that. I’m going to wait because I want to write about him again.

If you didn’t see the debate last night you should go on YouTube and watch it. It was great. These Republican Debates are like watching sitcoms with Newt playing the part of the angry old man. They say he is rising in the polls after his performance last night. I hope that is true because that would mean that we will have much more of him. He is playing to the base of the Republican Party and they are eating it up.

I can’t say that I agree with anything that Newt says but I will say that he is very entertaining. I want him to stay in the race for that reason only.
